The Company

Distil is working with a fantastic electronics / engineering business in Belfast that is building out their R&D engineering team with the addition of at least one embedded software engineer. The company provides innovative, award-winning engineering solutions to the Global marketplace. We need to recruit a talented software developer with experience of embedded development in Linux or RTOS environments. The business is an industry leader in a particularly exciting phase of their lifecycle. They hire ‘good people’ who are focused on building world class products in a highly innovative and collaborative setting.

 

The Role

We are looking for a software engineer who is experienced with design, development and scripting for embedded platforms. The purpose of the project is to undertake a fundamental re-design of some of the core products, focusing on NXP chip programming to hugely increase functionality of tech products in a realtime environment and move away from PC based controls. The impact on the business will be huge and the successful software developer will have the opportunity to be at the forefront of development in a product line that will say to some of the worlds largest tech companies.

 

The Person

This is a fantastic opportunity for either a mid-level or senior C / C++ / embedded software engineer to join a world class business to broaden their skills and experience with great people that are focused on collaboration and innovation. Required skills for this role that are of interest to us

  •         2.1 degree in a computing or engineering subject or equivalent education
  •         3 years of embedded software engineering experience
  •         Commercial experience in one of C/C++, or Assembly languages in Linux environments
  •         Knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/UDP)
  •         Understanding of audio processing
  •         Good analytical and problem- solving skills
