IT Support Engineer. Co Derry

The Role

An IT Support Engineer within a respected organisation in the Co. Derry area. This is a new role, based in the company full-time. The role exists as a combination of Software, Hardware, Network and Infrastructure support. This is a great opportunity with a lot of autonomy for a self-motivated individual to join a progressing company to develop their career. You must be enthusiastic and prepared to work hard. This is a busy, challenging and rewarding role.

The person

First and foremost you will be a hands-on technical person who loves making improvements. Working with new kit and being a key part of how up-to-date technology boosts performance and service within a large commercial organisation. You are not one to be stuck behind a desk working with admin and procedure manuals – you want to get your hands dirty and you want a challenge.

You could be working in an IT management company and find yourself spread across a range of clients and really fancy a change to a hands-on internal role. You will be someone who knows their stuff in regard to supporting Microsoft software, technology, infrastructure and hardware in a live environment.

You will need to be experienced with the following:

  • Skilled with PC hardware, desktop and software
  • Microsoft platforms (Exchange Office 365, AD, SQL, Windows Server etc)
  • Server Backup technologies (Veeam or similar)
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN network technologies and Active Directory
  • Experience in managing change and roll-outs in a live commercial environment
  • Knowledge of GDPR processes
  • Can work independently, under own initiative and solve complex IT problems
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication & organisational skills
  • Can work out of business hours when required
